Monday was Mashable's fifth annual Social Media Day, a day that rallies together social media enthusiasts in your area. It was a great opportunity to meet online friends we've made through our twitter, instagram, and the like, and just solidify those connections. There was a handful of events that happened in the Tampa Bay area, and I made sure to attend those that I could.

I was invited to a Foodie Blogger luncheon at Yard of Ale Gastropub by NHIE Tampa. I finally got to meet in person the wonderful team behind the blog and sampled beers and delicious food. So so good. We also got to hear about Drawer, an app that helps you keep track of all the places you want to visit and share with your friends. Definitely download that if you haven't already! Follow me at Meowlynn for all the suggestions of must go places in St. Petersburg, you already know! 

In the evening, I joined other social media lovers at Golfer's Grail, also hosted by NHIE Tampa, I just couldn't get enough of their company :) 

The event was also sponsored by Reeves VW and donations went to the Children's Cancer Center.

  
I had the chance to parade one of the Beetle convertibles down the street. Such a fun way to spread the word.

I loved it all; making new friends, new connections that go beyond a Twitter handle or some username, meeting like-minded individuals... It was a great day to say the least. I can't wait for SM Day next year!
