New Adventures
Five days in the city a couple weeks ago was not enough time to explore all that NYC and its boroughs had to offer. So, I am about to embark on the biggest adventure in my life: I accepted a job and I am moving to New York. The concrete jungle. The city that never sleeps. Where dreams are made of.
It still hasn’t hit me yet, but with each passing day, it’s creeping on me. Slowly, and then all at once. Everything will be different, and nothing will be the same. I am so excited and anxious at the same time. Mostly because I will be so far from everything I’ve been comfortable with here in Tampa: my family, my friends, my routines, places I love to visit. Saying goodbye is never easy, and with many, I am not ready. However, I have to do this for myself to learn and grow.
But it’s a new adventure and I am so happy to finally be able to see a little more than this swampy, humid corner I’ve been in for so long. It couldn’t come at a more perfect time. Autumn is my favorite season, and I’ll finally be able to experience what a REAL fall is like, also on that note, what a winter is like. I’ve been in Florida for too long, I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen snow. I definitely needed some time to acclimate.
It’s been a whirlwind and I never would have imagined this process happening so quickly. I am thankful, for this opportunity and the support I’ve had and the love I’ve received. I still have so much to prepare for my move, and this is just the beginning. I am welcoming it all with open arms.
